Sorry for the late update, wanted to post by the end of August, now it's already October. It's all good though, the game has evolved a lot and I'm sure you will love the changes despite the long wait. I've finally decided to release a beta. The game isn't finished yet, but that's where I need you to help me. I would like to see what you enjoy the most about Highway Smash and complete the game according to your feedback. This will obviously be a chance to search for bugs, spelling mistakes etc. as well.
Like I told you before there are "Job Packs" in the game, but there are plenty of open world features as well. My aim is to work more on the open world aspect of the game and I will do so with the help of your feedback.
The game itself is free, but there will be reasonably priced IAPs for various specialization add-on packs and an ultimate pack that completely unlocks all features and all future features.
I'm going to have to license all the music I'm using in the game before I can submit the beta to Apple. Once I've submitted the game I'll let you know here, which will hopefully be before the end of this month (fingers crossed).

There will unfortunately be some further delay. The website I used to license all music through does no longer accept online payments, which is quite weird in this day and age. There are also a few problems with graphics licensing, but it shouldn't interfere with the beta release. Anyway, I've been spending the last couple of days rebuilding a new music collection for the game and am now waiting for a few answers regarding some legal questions. Now let's talk a little about the game. It is not a complete game (many loose ends). Why are we having a test run then? 1 - Make sure that all basic controls are working correctly and are user friendly. 2 - Evaluate current open-world features and think about additional ones to keep the game exciting at all times. 3 - Add new, remove / modify existing side "Jobs". 4 - Balance : this is a big one. All rewards, challenges, item prices need to be balanced out. 5 - Bugs : this one is obvious, but we're going to break it down into categories: 5a - Critical : things that can break the game, leading to frustration (losing progress due to a flaw) 5b - Annoyances : issues that can be worked around most time, but that can be bothersome at times (e.g. erratic AI behavior) 5c - Cosmetic : glitches that don't affect gameplay / progress

Just a quick update. I've licensed and imported most of the music, improved a few things here and there and it's almost ready now. What's missing is removing all "development traces" so it's a genuine gameplay experience. Also, I'll be running the game through a brief test run myself, just to make sure everything is still in working order before beta testing begins. I know, I've said it many times, but just as a reminder, the game is only partially complete and your feedback will set the final course. As a small token of appreciation you can name a village of your choice after anything you like (first come, first serve ). Unfortunately, I can't give away cities atm., since they are too closely linked to the sequence of story elements (has to do with the game logic), but we'll see. I estimate a final submission date to Apple in around 3 days from now (meaning some time Thursday) + Apple's review time of course.

Yes, I know, I'm late as usual , but it'll be worth it. First of all, there were a few things that needed to be done, which I had completely forgotten about + a couple of bugs here and there, but then there's this Open World feature that I totally wanted to add and I think you'll love it (there's a short clip on the Facebook page). Anyway, I'll try my best to finalize testing and get it submitted by tomorrow. Let's hope nothing else unexpected comes up!

Apple has just approved the Beta! Since this is still an unreleased Game, I'd like to keep it in a smaller circle rather than spreading around a public link. To add individual testers, Apple requires a valid eMail address to which the invitation will be sent and a name, although I don't believe that you'd have to use your real names (if this is a privacy concern to you). Just send me a PM with that information and I'll have Apple send you an invitation. Thank you very much and I'm truly excited about your feedback!
PS: Any eMail will do, NO APPLE ID required!!!
