Moving on foot is a little strange at the moment. Moving in any direction other that "right" causes the player to rapidly come to a halt once the control stick is released, but moving "right" keeps the speed. This works well for vehicles, but I find it unintuitive on foot, especially since when stopping I have to "brake" just like in a vehicle. Personally I think that players on foot should move like in other games of this nature, moving when the control is actively in use and stopped otherwise.
A very minor nitpick - there is no visual feedback for moving "up" and "down". When moving "left" or "right", the pedal moves left or right accordingly, but "up" and "down" do not have any tells.

Agree with all of what you say. A friend of mine actually suggested to completely replace the on-foot UI with a joystick type controller. The only thing he said that I didn't quite like is to drop the direction control on the right and solely rely on the joystick. I feel like the direction control gives a lot of accuracy and it really shows a lot when you have to shoot at smaller targets.
Anyway, to sum it all up:
- Replace the default controls with a joystick which moves in all directions.
- The character always comes to a stop after releasing the controls.

Updated the main controller. It's bigger now and the inner part moves in all available directions. The person stops when the controller is released.

Looks good, what's the + and - signs on the joystick though?

Looks good, what's the + and - signs on the joystick though? Their function depends on the vehicle: Airplanes: Change pitch Helicopter: Change altitude Cars: Change gears (when transmission is manual)

Oh so it's not different for on foot and in vehicle? That works.

Well, I thought consistency in appearance would be less confusing. However, the joystick only moves horizontally when sideways motion is not available. As for the + / - symbols, perhaps they can stay hidden when there's not function mapped to them.
Do you think having separate appearances for the various control schemes would be better?
Oh and just so there's no misunderstanding, they are the same just in looks, but for vehicles the controls still behave like before, e.g. in cars the speed is held when releasing the controller.

Is anyone having trouble with the up down button. What I mean is it doesn’t feel as fluent as before. On foot mainly. Like I end up walking backwards a lot until I turn him around. Where I feel the old Controls did it faster? Does that make sense?

You mean taking steps to the side? If so, yeah, reduced it a bit because it felt like the guy was running all over the place, but we can increase it slightly, no problem.
